Our Story

From Kids to Getting Married

We first met in high school through a mutual friend, and our very first “almost group hangout” to get smoothies after school one day ended up being just the two of us as everyone bailed. Just two teenagers who quickly became inseparable. We dated throughout high school, and when graduation came, life started pulling us in different directions. As I packed to leave for University of Tennessee, we both knew one thing for certain: neither of us wanted our story to end. So we took a leap of faith and began our long-distance chapter. College brought new friendships, busy schedules, and plenty of football games, but no matter how far apart we were, we treasured every weekend, holiday, and break we got to spend together. Through the hard goodbyes, tearful see-you-laters, and countless FaceTime calls, we trusted in God’s plan for us—and He never failed us. Eventually, that plan brought us both to Raleigh, where we finally got to build a life side by side. After seven years together (and more than a few “When is he going to pop the question?” moments), Zac planned the perfect proposal on a Caribbean cruise last April. Making lunch reservations wasn’t unusual for him… but suggesting a walk afterward definitely caught my attention. Our stroll led to a dreamy boardwalk with a beautiful white gazebo overlooking the water. There, with the ocean breeze and the most perfect backdrop, he asked the big question. It was the best day calling our friends and family on the way back to the ship, celebrating the rest of the weekend, and soaking in the joy of the moment. Now, we can’t wait to celebrate the next part of our story with all the people who have cheered us on from the very beginning.
