Our story began long before our first official date. As my brother-in-law’s best friend, he was a familiar face for years—and quietly, I had a crush on him all throughout high school. It wasn’t until the summer after I graduated that our paths truly aligned and we started talking in a meaningful way. From the start, we discovered a deep connection through shared interests—our love for music, Marvel movies, Star Wars, and countless other wonderfully nerdy things. Our first date, fittingly, was to see Thor: Love and Thunder. It didn’t take long for us to realize that what we had was something truly special. We began dreaming together—of a future filled with love, land, animals, and of course, children of our own. A year into our relationship, Micah bought an engagement ring with an aquamarine stone. Aquamarine has always been my favorite gem, and it carries even more meaning as it’s the birthstone of both my mother and Micah. Just a week after ordering the ring, Micah was in a serious work accident that nearly took his life. That moment brought everything into focus—he knew he didn’t want to waste another second. Knowing I’d prefer something quiet and personal, he proposed in the sweetest way—by placing the ring on top of my favorite Starbucks drink, right in the kitchen of the home I grew up in. It was thoughtful, intimate, and perfectly us. When we visited our venue for the first time, rainbows followed us the entire way there. We took it as a beautiful sign from his late grandmother Bethy, who had recently passed away. Micah’s family has a special tradition of marrying on the 12th, so we chose June 12th to honor that legacy. We will soon share an anniversary with his Mamaw Kay and late Papaw Gary, adding another meaningful layer to our story. Our love story is one of timing, shared dreams, and unwavering love. We are so excited to step into this next chapter as husband and wife, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
