Micah and I’s journey began long before our first date. As the best friend of my brother-in-law, he had been a familiar face for years and quietly, I carried a crush on him throughout high school. It wasn’t until the summer after I graduated that our paths aligned and we began to actually talk to each other. From the beginning, we discovered a strong connection through our shared interests, a mutual love for music, Marvel films, Star Wars, and many more nerdy things. Our first date, fittingly, was to see Thor: Love and Thunder, and it quickly became clear that this was something truly special. We found ourselves dreaming of the same future one filled with love, land, and a life surrounded by animals. One year into our relationship, he purchased a ring with an aquamarine stone Aquamarine has always been my favorite gemstone, and it holds even greater meaning as it is the birthstone of both my mother and himself. Just a week after ordering the ring he had a serious work accident that nearly cost him his life. That experience brought clarity, and he knew he didn’t want to wait another moment. Understanding my wish for a quiet and personal moment, he proposed in the sweetest way by placing the ring on top of my favorite Starbucks drink, creating a surprise that was intimate, thoughtful, and us. When we visited our venue for the first time, we were greeted by rainbows the entire way there, a beautiful sign that we felt was sent by his late grandmother who recently passed away. We chose June 12th to honor a meaningful tradition in his family, as many of his loved ones have married on the 12th. Our story is one of patience, shared dreams, and so much love. We are so excited to begin this new chapter as husband and wife, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
