(Lydia's version) I met Jeremy at a young adult hangout at church. It was literally the first one I ever went to (and I didn't keep attending afterwards). I went to the hangout with the specific goal of making more female friends at my church...and ended up spending most of the night talking with a guy my sister knew from music team. He was really smart and kind and I really enjoyed talking with him. We talked about ministry and missions and church. I left the evening thinking "well, I guess I have another guy friend." We started getting together to play music, and I kept inviting him to game nights, concerts, and volunteer opportunities. He served with me at a local ministry (Buffalow Family and Friends) thanksgiving extravaganza. And while he was there, I hit a level of severe burnout and Jeremy was there to support and care for me. I realized how safe he made me feel. A couple weeks later, Jeremy helped one of my friends throw me a birthday party; we did a murder mystery party (and I may have cast us as husband and wife). After that night, I knew that I really liked him. We started dating a month later.

As Lydia said, we first met at a young adult's church event that neither of us knew a whole lot of people at, I had met Lydia's sister through worship team and so ended up talking with them for a while, which led to us finding a lot of commonalities and ended up playing music together later that week before she went to Greece for a month on mission. When she came back she started inviting me to some of the things we found out we had in common, a concert, a ren faire, worship nights, and we became friends. I figured out that we liked each other way before she did, and then she at her birthday party that I helped plan, cast me as her husband in the murder mystery, which if that isn't the greenest light to ask somebody out I don't know what is. We had a mild DTR while playing music together and then went on not-a-date to Cookout afterwards. When we finally started to date, I immediately showed her some of my most treasured memes, she laughed, I had a good time. And that brings us to now!
