Our story started on Nov, 26 2021 at National Youth Convention. We both decide to go to the Adult-ish afterburner. When you checked in to this after burner you placed your name, age and relationship status, this point of time me and Caleb were both single! During this late night event they decided to choose 2 singles to do a pick up line. Caleb and Lydia were randomly selected. During this game Lydia had no idea what she was going to say so she got to phone a friend. While Lydia was getting the worst pick up line Caleb asked the judge if he could phone a friend as well and they laughed saying, “you’re a guy you should know this” Lydia ends up coming back to the center of the room and asked if Caleb “if it hurt when he fell from heaven” everyone just stared knowing that was horrible. Caleb knowing thanksgiving is over he starts to say “can I take a picture of you” before he could even get the rest of the words out Lydia immediately says “NO!” Caleb continues to say “because I wanna show Santa what I want for Christmas” little did this two teens at the time know they were speaking to their future mate for life.

Years passed and Lydia ran into Caleb again in 2024 walking around with someone he knew at National Youth Convention in 2023. They stopped and said hi and went their separated ways again. In August 24th 2025 Caleb officially slid his way into Lydia’s instagram direct messages and started to ask her about Ohio District events. Shortly after they kept talking, minutes became hours, hours became days and before you knew it Lydia and Caleb were talking for a week. On Friday night of August 30th, Caleb heard Lydia was going to a concert in Cincinnati. This was also a weekend him and his best friend Ethan were going to Tennessee. Caleb and Ethan decided make a detour and join Lydia at the Disney concert. When Caleb got to Cincinnati he made eye contact with Lydia, super red face, and reached out his hand and said “hi, my name is Caleb is so good to finally meet you.” Lydia laughed and shook his hand back. They went into the concert where Lydia would be her absolute self, dancing to all the high school musicals songs, screaming to the top of her lungs. Caleb still says to this day that he knew Lydia was the one at the concert.

It wasn’t even two days later after the concert Caleb found his way back in Ohio. After driving back through the night from Tennessee to Ohio. He heard Lydia was helping her community and wanted to support. (Lydia was helping her church at a recovering picnic in Fairborn.) Caleb got to meet Lydia’s family without hesitation. Started talking to everyone, playing corn hole. This was the day Lydia noticed something about Caleb that she’s never seen before.

After two short weeks of Lydia and Caleb being together, Caleb was leaving for family vacation but had to pass thought to Ohio. Him and his brother left on Wednesday afternoon and got to Ohio late Wednesday night. Lydia ended up being off the next day. Caleb and Lydia and Jon ended up having an all nighter, going to Round One, a local arcade, going into a park to stargaze, and coming back to her house and playing games. When it was time to call it a night Lydia and Caleb couldn’t stop laughing. Caleb looked into Lydia’s eyes and told her that he fell in love, little did he know Lydia was on the same page. After this night they couldn’t imagine anyone else in their life but their person.

On October 4th Caleb drove all the way to Cincinnati to pick Lydia up from the airport after being in Florida. After landing at 12:50am he drove her all the way to Indiana for the first time. Waking up on October 5th she got ready and Caleb took her to Chicago all day. They go to see the bean, tons of store, but most importantly ended the night at the pier. Walking to the pier it was beautiful sunset. They walked to the very end of the pier where you can see the whole city, it was filled with so many lights and beautiful. While sitting there Caleb made it official and asked Lydia to be his girlfriend. The next day she got to meet his family. They filled her with so much joy.
