Who knew that a single flyer saying "drummer needed" would change both of our lives? That audition for Gentry Blue on February 22, 2019, at Belmont University truly changed everything. A love for music soon turned into co-writing sessions, which then turned into meeting frequently at the Belmont Caf, which turned into hardcore crushing... which then turned into first dates in late October of 2019. Several months later in March 2020, a quick four-day spring break trip to meet Brendan's family transformed into a two-and-a-half-month stay in Highland, Maryland! This greatly strengthened our bond with each other as well as with one another's families. However, all good things must come to an end and we had to go long distance for three months until the school year started again at Belmont. When we finally reconvened in Nashville in August 2020, it was as though we never missed a beat. Each other's houses were like second homes to us, where we would frequently cook together and have movie nights. Throughout all this, we would continue to collaborate with our band, with Brendan moving from our drummer to guitarist in the June of 2021. Throughout that year, Brendan began touring around the country many weekends and gained his bachelor's degree from Belmont University in December 2021. Not long after, we adopted our cat Crackle when she was a kitten in January 2022, and she's remained an integral addition to the household ever since. February 22, 2022 (2/22/22) was the three-year anniversary of the day we met each other at our first band practice together. To celebrate, Brendan told Lydia they were going to a restaurant on 12 South in Nashville. It was a rainy day with little to no people out in the area when we parked and exited our car. We ended up stopping by the area of the pumpkin patch where we went on our first date back in 2019. It was then and there when we finally got engaged! The following summer, we made irreplaceable memories by going on vacations with our respective families to Iceland and a road trip to New York. We continued to enjoy quality time in town together this past fall, as well as collaborating with our band, all leading up to Lydia gaining her bachelor's degree from Belmont University in December 2022. 2023 so far has been full of wedding planning and touring for both of us! We can't wait to see what adventures our love will take us on, and we are so grateful to spend the rest of our lives with each other. We are so excited to celebrate with you all this May!
