One quiet Saturday night, Lydia was hanging out with Adriana (her bestie) drinking a glass of wine when Adriana started scrolling through her dating app! 🍷📱 She was having SO much fun "shopping" for boys that Lydia wanted to join in! So she threw together a quick profile with almost no info and no pictures just to browse or "window shop". After several swipes to the left and trying to figure out if these guys were as tall as they said they were, or if their hats were covering up a fading hairline, she stumbled across this beefcake of a man! 😍 His profile said some interesting things, blah blah blah... skip to what really mattered, he was 6"2"!!! After looking through his photos, he was WAY taller than his friends so she decided to send him a private message with a selfie attached. She added him to her "shopping cart" and waited for his response. 🛒 Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Al was assisting the blind community by getting them drunk after a hard day at work, because he's such a good Samaritan 😇 The next day, he saw her message and was very intrigued by her picture and the self proclaimed "diva" description of herself.  So, he replied with a brief "hello" and started a conversation.  The conversation took off immediately. She was equally intrigued by this guy and they chatted for a couple weeks before finally speaking on the phone. Their chemistry was awesome, but she still wasn't sure if this dude was the real deal. So, he set up a date to Gyu Kaku and Lydia was about to find out what this guy was all about. But then she got a text. About 3 hours before their scheduled date, she got a text from Al that said "I have a bit of diarrhea"... Um, WHO says that??? 😂 After sending screenshots of that text to her besties, she finally stopped laughing to actually respond. Like, what was she supposed to do with this information? Then he called her. He explained that his friend Johnny was opening a juice shop and gave him samples of different juices earlier in the day that apparently gave him an unexpected cleanse. 💩 Pretty relieved that she didn't have to go on this date (she was beyond hungover from the night before), she gave him the benefit of the doubt when he asked to reschedule for the next day. She walked into the restaurant to find this very attractive man sitting there patiently (she might have been a few minutes late 😏) He stood up and he was taller than her, even with her 5 inch heels on! 😍 He looked up and thought to himself "her picture didn't do her any justice" ☺️ Even though he made her cook her own food at this restaurant, she was willing to get past that because the conversation just flowed as if they'd known each other forever. He asked if she wanted to continue the date at the bar next door, and she was happy to! But that's when she found out who this monster really was! A Dodger hating, Laker hating MESS who has the WORST taste in sports teams for someone who grew up in the heart of LA!!! 🤦🏽‍♀️ It was this half of their date where they got to trash talk, laugh and see a different side of the nervous people having dinner just a couple hours before. Al was taken aback by how much shit talking this woman was doing, neither one backing down and he loved every second of it! 😍 Despite his horrible taste in teams, they had so much fun that he asked her for a second date. She agreed.  Five years later...they still talk trash, laugh everyday, support each other through all of life's ups and downs and are ready for the next chapter in their love story. 💕
