Luz confirms remembering a seemingly innocent man who was trying to help out, but certainly not a man who would be trying to pick up a lady at the gym. Eric´s intentions were smooth and clear; he found an effective way to say hello without being creepy. Later that week, they saw each other once again, and this time it was next to each other on a row of squat racks. Eric said, "Hello," and Luz said, "Hi." From there, it would become a simple conversation, ending with an exchange of cell phone numbers, and resulting in a coffee date later that weekend. Those who know Luz will admit that she does not enjoy drinking coffee, yet this simple act, combined with risk, would create an opportunity for the spark that turned into a flame. After their first official coffee date, Luz and Eric began to instantly become curious and intrigued by one another. Their first morning coffee date ended with a second date later that afternoon in Old Town, San Diego. Since then, their first date would never end, and they would continue to go on back-to-back dates that seemed to never end. Things have moved naturally and quickly. Two years later, they are scheduled to tie the knot in Luz´s home country and city where she was born.
