We were in Hawaii, after our time in Kauai, we flew to Oahu for the second part to our trip. It was the first full day on Oahu when we had a beach day planned. It started to rain sideways, and rain was in the forecast for the rest of the day. We just laughed it off and tried to stick it out for a while. After having enough of the rain, we went back to the hotel to relax and get ready for our dinner reservation later that night. Mike suggested the day before we should grab a drink and go to the beach to watch the sunset (which is something Amanda loves to do). Mike mentioned it again that day, and Amanda just kept saying "no worries" if we don't get to see it tonight, we can see it another time. We grabbed a drink at the hotel bar as Mike watched the weather on his phone when he noticed there was going to be a small break in the weather where we may be able to catch the sunset. We walked outside and the rain cleared. Since it was so rainy, a normally very busy beach (Waikiki Beach) was empty. We took a few photos with a beautiful Hawaii sunset and Amanda checked her phone to be sure the pictures were good before we took off. Little did Amanda know Mike's plan. By the time Amanda turned to show Mike the pictures, Mike was on one knee. It was the most magical special moment in time. We took a few more pictures before the rain set in once again. We ran back inside to the hotel and called our anxiously awaiting families. Afterwards, we went for a delicious dinner at Senia. Mike pulled off the ultimate surprise. Amanda had no idea a proposal was in store that night, let alone that trip. To hear the story of all the things Mike planned without Amanda knowing was so special and brought Amanda to tears. We then got to enjoy the rest of the week together on Oahu as a newly engaged couple.
