FAQs

The Wedding Website of Stephanie Luu and Derek Andre
We acknowledge that our guests have to travel for our big day and we so appreciate you all for taking the time and effort to celebrate with us. If you have questions about the ceremony or Cabo, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at: stephanie.m.luu@gmail.com and derek.andre@gmail.com. We hope to see you there!
Question

What steps and precautions are we taking to protect against COVID-19

Answer

While the wedding is small and outdoors, we want to do everything we can to ensure it's a safe celebration. That said, we've decided to update our testing requirements and we ask that ALL guests (regardless of vaccination status, whether or not your got a booster or had COVID in the past etc) get tested 12 hrs prior to each wedding event you attend (i.e. 1 for Welcome Party at La Lupita and 1 for Wedding Ceremony at Acre). We hope you understand and see this as a small ask to ensure we can celebrate safely and with some peace of mind. Failure to provide a negative test will result in you getting turned away so please plan accordingly!

Question

Is there a shuttle to and from the hotel to the wedding ceremony?

Answer

YES! Our wedding venue, Acre Baja is in San Jose del Cabo which is a small town that neighbors Cabo. It is a 45 min drive and we will be providing free transportation to/from the venue. Pick up is at the lobby of Villa del Arco and the shuttles depart at 3:15pm.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Cabo?

Answer

Yes--Cabo is in Mexico therefore, it is considered international travel! You MUST bring a valid passport and the expiration date must be greater than 6+ months from your dates of travel. Be sure to check the expiration date and renew or apply for one if needed. Current processing times due to the backlog can take anywhere from 18 weeks (regular processing) to 12 weeks (expedited processing). Note: Infants and children also need a passport to travel.

Question

How do I get from Los Cabo Airport to my hotel?

Answer

While Taxi options are available, we strongly recommend you book a shuttle that'll pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. If you are staying at Villa Group hotels, we have partnered with Impala Cabo Services for transportation services that'll take you directly to the resort. You have the option of paying for a private transfer or sharing with other wedding guests that are arriving in the same window of time. Visit www.impalacabo.com and on the center of the page, click "Submit your wedding guest reservation here!" On the next screen, click "sign in" and add user and password: User: SL&DA20 Password: SL&DA20 Click “Okay” and this will bring you to our reservation page. Click “Guest List” and then “Add your information”. Please be sure to include all of the information below: 1. Hotel or Accommodation 2. Number of passengers in your party 3. Arrival Flight Information (airline, flight number and time) 4. Departure Flight Information (airline, flight and time) Click: “submit”

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We know you're traveling and we love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! Your kids are more than welcome to join the trip but, the wedding is an adults only event. If needed, here is a list of available childcare services: 1. Diana at Baja Babysitting - 624-157-7016, bajababysitting@gmail.com, www.bajababysitting.com 2. Indira Singh - 624-171-3839, singhindira@yahoo.com 3. Camillia at Los Cabos Babysitting - 624-179-9755, loscabosbabysitting@hotmail.com

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

The weather in Cabo in January is about 65 degrees so dress in layers and bring a jacket! Cocktail (suit and tie and dresses/jumpsuits) attire only. Ladies--the ceremony happens on a grass lawn so I recommend a block heel or heel protectors (Amazon).

Question

Is Uber available in Cabo?

Answer

While Uber is available, there are areas that Taxis are allowed to pick up from that Ubers can't. Check the app at the time you need transportation to see what pick up points are available.

Question

I've never been to Cabo before, is it safe?

Answer

Cabo is VERY touristy and safe but like any destination you'd travel to, you have to be smart about how you travel regardless of where you are. That means making sure the meter is running when you get into a cab, not venturing out too late, not traveling with flashy valuables and being aware of your surroundings.

Question

Do I need a COVID test to depart or enter the US?

Answer

Mexico does not currently require a negative COVID test to enter. However, based on CDC guidelines you will need to get a COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. Villa del Arco and Villa del Palmar provide onsite testing and this can be scheduled at check-in for $220. You can also purchase at-home PCR test kits.
