Our People

Monica Lukasiewicz

Matron of Honor

Monica and Emily are sisters from another mister, though you may not be able to tell their dads apart from behind in the late-night pizza line. They met on a church trip to the Twin Cities and within two hours were standing on top of a minivan scream-singing “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. They are each other’s favorite person. Monica is a hard working nurse with a heart of gold and a soul you swear you’ve known in a past life.

Peter Lutz

Best Man

Peter is David's older, shorter and heavier brother. Peter was David's roommate in both childhood and adulthood, and people constantly confuse them for each other, including Emily, who once tried to canoodle with Peter at a Christmas party. As kids, Peter, David and Christoper comprised the Coconut Boys™, due to their signature buzzcuts. Even though David has surpassed Peter in height, he still really looks up to him. Over the years, they've refined their ability to argue technicalities. By the end of the night, you'll surely know Budzie, as he has the personality of a Labrador retriever and the dance moves of a dog with fleas.

Andrea Nestler

Bridesmaid

Andrea and Emily met at a college party. They looked around the room, said, “we’re dressed the cutest out of everyone here,” took a shot and their friendship took off. While they do not photograph well in the wind or elements, they are unflappable friends. Andrea is making the world a better place as an environmental protection specialist in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, where she was employee of the year in 2018.

Brian Lutz

Groomsman

Brian is David's oldest, shortest and heaviest brother. He is the one you'll never believe was in the Army. Brian was always a positive role model for all the Lutz boys, except for when he was crashing helicopters in the Middle East. Brian set the standard of being tall, skinny and awkward from a young age, and everyone did their best to live up to his shining example. Like a good older brother, Brian covered for David when he was in the police blotter in the local paper by having his picture on the cover as a local hero. Brian is a nerd at heart and fantastic father to four.

Christopher Lutz

Groomsman

Anybody who has been around the Lutz family can tell you about the culinary talents of Christopher Lutz, David's youngest and lightest brother. Christopher has always been kind and well meaning, if at times goofy, like his older brothers. Despite the fact that he's now 28, it's still weird for David to see Christopher drink alcohol.

Craig Cogdill

Bridesman

Craig had no choice but to meet Emily. He was enjoying a relaxing evening on his porch with his roommates, when she barged through the enclosing privacy bushes and serenaded him. Music became an integral part of their friendship. They talk about it every day on multiple platforms and only sometimes fight over the aux cord. Craig is the funniest person currently known. He fixes bugs and smokes nugs as a software engineer for a cannabis company.

Eleanor Altimari

Flower Girl

Emily couldn't wait to meet Eleanor. In fact, the Altimari family was so happy that Eleanor was born that they bought milkshakes for the entire Labor & Delivery staff at the hospital. Almost six years later, Eleanor is the brightest star in the Altimari constellation. She has the wit and comedic timing of a person five times her age, and an old lady impression that makes you wonder how old she really is.

Eric Altimari

Bridesman

Eric and Emily go way back... to Eric's birth, which Emily protested, because it meant the end of her reign as only child. They spent their childhood hunting for salamanders, making funny videos, including a shot-for-shot remake of West Side Story, and complaining about any activity that was with other kids and not at their home. Eric is an adventurous soul who picks "dare" every time. He's tricked Emily into skiing off cliffs.

Erin Jacobs

Bridesmaid

Maybe it was how they both pronounced "mom" as "maaahm," or maybe it was the fact that they both talked to their moms on the phone everyday, but Emily and Erin were meant to be. They met freshman year and somewhere between doing P90X and driving from Colorado to Chicago with two random men, their friendship quickly became about the hilarity of life. When Erin and Emily are not harmonizing with each other, they're laughing. Erin is the most fun person at the party. She remembers everything, including every line in Remember the Titans.

Jack Leonard

Groomsman

John Corneleaus Leonard and David first met on the bus ride to crew practice, where David could not understand why Jack was smiling so much. Jack started hanging out with David for the Lutz family cooking and stayed on for the discussion of epic fantasy novels. Jack quickly became valuable as a designated driver all over Glenview and still maintains a radiant smile to this day. Jack might be the shortest of David's friends, but they've come a long way since they both weighed 120 lbs and wore loose spandex in a small boat.

Kayla Stroner

Bridesmaid

Emily desperately wanted to be Kayla's friend from the time she met her in second grade. She finally got the chance in fifth grade in the choir loft at church, where the two tried their best to not be squirrely under the reverent eye of the 10,000-year-old choir director. That same year, Emily and Kayla shared the stage in the school play as Snow White and the Evil Queen. Eventually, they would grow up to become Bert and Ernie, and be just as squirrely as their fifth grade selves. Kayla always knows the perfect thing to say. David originally thought Emily was dating Kayla, due to how much Emily loves to express her love for Kayla both online and IRL.

Marc Altimari

Bridesman

When Emily first met Marc, she walked right past him to a piece of bread on a hospital tray. Since then, Marc has slowly surpassed bread in Emily's heart. Some have said that Marc and Emily are a nicer and more approachable Finneas and Billie Eilish, writing, recording and performing music together. Marc is the protagonist of the Altimari family, getting every good gene and leaving scraps for everyone else. If he wanted to, he could be a music producer or cinematographer, but he was pressured to go into the family business and is currently in medical school.

Max Salah

Groomsman

Max is one of the people David has known longest in his life outside of his family. When David wasn't dominating Max in driveway basketball (depending on which side of history you're on), he was trying desperately as hard to be as cool as Max thought they were. Max doubles as a hype man and confidant for David. Max is most likely to rip his pants, as he enjoys aggressively pursuing a good time.

Patrick Lutz

Ring Bearer

Paddy is David's godson. He has inherited the Lutz love of playing video games in his boxers late into the day. He is a Mario Kart prodigy and runs almost exclusively on chips and salsa. He's almost guaranteed to show off some patented Lutz dance moves. He's one of the sweetest 8 year olds you'll ever meet.

TJ Sobczak

Groomsman

David met TJ in high school. He was initially slightly intimidated by TJ as another tall, big-nosed, deep-voiced and frugal friend. TJ is someone whose opinion David values tremendously in matters financial and personal. TJ is ultra reliable and like David, has always been an old man at heart. David and TJ have even traveled to Thailand together, where they learned to lower some standards and raise others.

Will Davis

Groomsman

Will Davis is David's bro for life. Will grew up practically next door to David, which meant Will functioned as a brother of the same age. Will Davis has always been the "glue guy." Everyone thinks highly of Will, except in his role as fantasy football commissioner. David and Will are rivals in Settlers of Catan, Euchre and Super Smash Brothers and David is often frustrated by Will's strategic genius. Will Davis is genuine and kind and David is honored that Will decided to live next door to him.
