How We Met Though Jasmine and Matt first started dating in February of 2016, they've known each other for just over a decade, first shooting messages and watching movies via a mutual friend groups voice chat server in 2010. Despite a quickly budding friendship and signs of something more, time and circumstances would seem to signal that it just wasn't meant to be. However, despite Matt moving to Japan for a 4 year stint teaching English and Jasmine beginning her undergrad at William Paterson University for her nursing degree, the two remained close friends, sharing updates on their lives and having the occasional Japanese tutoring session (although it's debatable how much language was learned). In 2015, after returning stateside and both starting new chapters in their lives, Matt reached out to Jasmine. After numerous attempts, planning, and maybe a pinch of begging, they went on their first date, although Jasmine will still insist to this day it was, "JUST AS FRIENDS" (read in your most adamant proclamatory voice). On February 22, 2016, it became official and would represent the first steps of a four and half year journey full of experiences — from trips all over the world to getting their first "fur baby" together. Committed to keeping the adventures going for the rest of their lives, Matt asked Jasmine to marry him on October 25, 2020. With the help of family, she said yes! This would bring the ten year arc to a close, but it's certainly not the end of the story. They are both excited to start a new chapter with everyone on March 4th, 2022, with countless more to come!
