It all started with a swipe and Lupita asking a very unique pick up line - “Hi Phil! I’m curious as to what Korean sunscreen recommendations you have?” *Note: Phil made a comment on his profile about Korean skin care products.* After conversing back and forth, they eventually decided to meet up at Lupita’s favorite vegan restaurant, Loving Hut. Unknowing to them both, that little pocket of Elk Grove has the WORST reception with Phil messaging Lupita he was waiting inside while Lupita messaged Phil that she would be waiting outside. This led to both of them feeling that they got stood up by the other. After what felt like an eternity later, (~7 minutes) Lupita finally received Phil’s message and rushed on inside to see him sitting sadly by himself. Big smiles were shared by both of them as they saw each other for the first time. Talking between them came so easily that before they knew it 3 hours had passed as they were having lunch. They then ventured off on a short walk around a nearby park. The short walk then turned into a 3-mile excursion with Phil assessing Lupita’s elbow that has been bothering her from a move she’d practiced at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (in case you didn’t know, she’s currently a blue belt & he’s a physical therapist). Feeling like they walked enough, the both of them returned back to the car as they shared their top songs on their Spotify playlist (Phil’s playlist was better). The conversation then continued in the car for another couple of hours. What could have been a meeting that never happened instead turned into an amazing 8+ hour date. It might have been her big charismatic smile or his chivalrousness that attracted them to the other leading us to this point now. Very soon, the both of them will begin their happily ever after.
