"We fell in love, despite our differences, and something rare and beautiful was created"- The Notebook. Our story began in 2015 when Josue commented on an Instagram picture of me when I was a "Houston Dynamo Girl." According to Josue, he did not know I was from Pasadena until his friends told him. Therefore, his friends made fun of his comment, and his response was, "She is going to be my girlfriend someday,.. just watch". 2 years later, he messaged me on Instagram, and for some reason, I responded that day. The conversation was short and ended quickly. We had been following each other for years but never met in person. That weekend, a girlfriend and I decided to go downtown with some friends. Josue and I had mutual friends and lived in the same city but had never met. Coincidently, we ran into each other for the first time that night. We briefly spoke that night, but we ended up going our separate ways. Weeks later, we started talking more, and I finally accepted a date. I was so amazed at how interested and persistent he was with me. I had never met a man who showed such a high interest in me. He was kind, respectful, romantic and funny. I also noticed how much he made me smile. One date at Frank's Pizza led to a whole week of dating and fun. That is when we realized we liked each other, and from there on, the rest was history. Five months later, he asked me to be his girlfriend on a bench at The Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, TX, on 2/17/2018

After five years of dreaming of this moment,... he finally asked. It was our 5th year anniversary, and we went to dinner like we always do. A week before, Josue told me he had made reservations for a "Wine Tour" on a boat in Clearlake, TX. I thought nothing of it because days before our anniversary, Josue expressed how he wasn't financially ready for marriage yet. (He was tricking me into thinking that he wouldn't be proposing soon). After dinner at Perry's Steakhouse, we rushed to the Clearlake location, where the boat awaited us. Josue acted confused as he took me into the lobby and asked me to wait. Within 5 minutes, he hurried me outside as he pretended to be lost while looking for our designated boat. As we walked down the stairs to the deck, the marquee letter struck out with the words "Marry Me." That's when I saw my future before me and became emotional. He reassured me by saying, "Don't cry; you know this had to happen eventually, babe." After composing myself, we walked towards the sparkles and marquee letter. My Fiancé started with a beautiful speech as he got on one knee and asked if I would marry him? After saying, "YES!!" we were greeted by our lovely family and friends. Once I saw our parents, I couldn't help but get very emotional; it was beautiful knowing we had both their blessings. Our proposal was perfect and romantic. It was everything I expected and more. We then celebrated on a party boat that he rented for the rest of the night. Our proposal was more than a dream, which is why we are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you all. We have both dreamed of a dreamy proposal and are now blessed to host our dream wedding. With the grace of God and our parent's blessing, we will finally be Mr. & Mrs. Batres!!
