We were bored during the pandemic and decided to download Hinge - a dating app designed to be deleted. We had low expectations coming into our first date, essentially we were meeting up as friends. Sparks were flying quite literally, it was 4th of July! Til this day, Victor talks about an older man (we'll call him Cupid) giving him the thumbs up while Lupe looked away. All they needed a nudge from Hinge, a scoop of non-dairy strawberry ice cream (blame Lupe), a picnic bench, and a creepy old man to realize two soulmates were on the cusp of a life filled with adventures and laughs.

Victor and some friends rented a cabin at Yosemite National Park to celebrate Lupe's birthday. Following months of preparation, Lupe thought they were heading to her favorite National Park to hit the slopes and have a wonderful birthday weekend. On Saturday, Victor asked if they could go take a picture at Tunnel View (first red flag, Victor hates taking pictures 😂). In a very unlike Lupe reaction, she refused to go up a small ridge of rocks because they were a bit icy due to the snowfall. Lupe exclaimed to Victor, “I'm not going up there, what do you want me to fall and die on my birthday?” Finally after some strong convincing, she walked across the set of rocks to take the picture. A bit annoyed Lupe responded, "...there can we go now?” Before she walked away Victor said, "Lupe I have something for you..." She just rolled her eyes with annoyance. Seconds later, he got down in one knee, the photographer rose her camera, and Lupe finally realized what was happening. After a short monologue, Lupe immediately nodded yes and added, "...I have a finance now!”
