No. The ceremony is about a mile down the road from the reception. Gather at the Forest House Lodge no later than 3:30, and then carpool to the ceremony site at Grand Sierra Point.
Absolutely a family event. Bring the kids and let them enjoy the s'mores bar and game room while you enjoy the party, too!
Mediocre. Bring the printed driving directions in case your phone doesn't get a consistent signal. There will be Wi-Fi available at the lodge.
Everyone! If you stay nearby, RSVP for breakfast and join us in the morning to close out the weekend.
Really cool stuff. Pool table, air hockey, karaoke, card tables. You name it!
Yep! Kids under 12 aren't allowed to be unsupervised on the property. If you're interested in having a sitter so that they can hang on their own all night, Forest House can hook it up. they are $15 an hour, but we can group families together and you can split the cost. Let us know if you are interested, and we'll set it up.
It doesn't. The bar closes at 2:00 am, but the game room is open all night.
We have exclusive rights to the entire lodge.
No. We will be fined $5000 if any alcohol is brought in.
Both. The bar will be hosted for beer, wine, and a signature drink selected by the Bride and Groom after the ceremony until the tab is depleted. Prior to the ceremony and after the tab runs dry, it will be a cash bar. They accept credit cards, too.
Let us know right away if you have a true food allergy. The chef can accommodate one alternative food for all allergy guests. They do not customize the selection to each guest. Unfortunately, we can't accommodate food preferences, but there will be so many food options all night, that you should be able to find a variety of things you'll enjoy. Appetizers will be served at three different times, dinner has three entrée choices, and there will be three desert options. We promise that you won't go hungry.
The kid’s buffet consists of chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, and French-fries. Children are also welcome to eat from the main menu.
Most of the rooms have one double bed. Bring sleeping mats for the kids to crash on the floor. It's going to be a snug fit, but you probably won't spend much time in there anyway.
Probably not. This is European style lodging, meaning that the rooms are cozy and more like a bedrooms. A few of the rooms have a bathroom between them, but most will use the shared bathrooms at the ends of the hallways. There are also bathrooms on every floor.
