FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will occur in the evening at the John James Audubon Center, 1201 Pawlings Rd. Audubon, PA 19403. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors on a lawn and the cocktail hour/ reception will immediately follow in a climate controlled environment.

Question

Why Audubon, PA?

Answer

Katie and much of her family is from Pittsburgh, and Jerry and much of his family is in New Jersey. We decided to split the difference when choosing a venue and hope to incorporate wedding traditions from both sides of the track (I'm looking at you, cookie table).

Question

What's the deal with the hotels?

Answer

Our wedding date/ weekend overlaps with a PGA tour in the area. Because of this, acquiring a hotel block was tricky and somewhat limited. We were only able to get a block at the Hilton Garden Inn, but once the block is full it's our understanding that it can't be extended further. Please book your rooms sooner rather than later so we can corral everyone into the same shuttle.

Question

A shuttle you say?

Answer

We plan to coordinate a shuttle service between the hotel (Hilton Garden Inn Valley Forge/Oaks) and the venue. If you are unable to book a room at that hotel and are still interested in the shuttle, please contact us! Shuttle plans still have wiggle room, and we will try our best to accommodate!

Question

What about accomodations once we get to the venue?

Answer

The venue will provide mobility aid around the grounds for those that need it. Aside from the ceremony on a lawn, most of the walking will be on concrete, on a deck, or indoors. For those with food allergies, please indicate your allergies on the RSVP so the chefs can prepare ahead of time.

Question

The food is a little weird, what do I get?

Answer

The yuzu-glazed chicken feels like a refined take on a traditional lemon chicken. The yuzu-glaze provides a floral citrus flavor that is somewhere between a clementine and a lemon. The miso togarashi sauce brings richness, umami, and a little bit of heat that perfectly balances the sweet citrus glaze. Pick this if you want something light, bright, and balanced. The Guinness braised short rib is, as Jerry described it, "stupid good". The Guiness-infused gravy is classic and refined rather than beer-forward. Pick this if you want something that's cozy, rich, and feels like a warm hug. The heart of palm cake almost has the texture of a crab cake but with a tenderness more similar to artichoke hearts. It rests on a bed of curried lents that are perfectly spiced and add a pop of flavor to every bite. This smoky roasted red pepper sauce brings a warmth and a grounded flavor making it our most spiced and adventurous option. Pick this if you want something flavorful and bright.
