Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Brenda Luna and Taylor Eddinger
A list of our favorite local spots! If you're flying in early and staying in Austin, this list has some of our favorite places to eat, followed by fun things to do in the area. We also added a few spots in Round Top!
Fresa's - South First

Fresa's - South First

1703 South 1st Street, Austin, TX 78704

Our favorite restaurant in Austin! They are known for Pollo al Carbon (wood grilled chicken) and their tasty margaritas! Taylor’s favorite is the avocado margarita while Brenda enjoys their prickly pear marg!

Sour Duck Market

Sour Duck Market

1814 East Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Austin, TX 78702

SUCH a good spot!! Great menu any time of day with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options as well as a bakery and tasty coffee in case you need a pick me up. One of the best Happy Hours in town in our opinion, from 3-6pm daily. Seating is outdoors!

Home Slice Pizza

Home Slice Pizza

501 East 53rd Street, Austin, TX 78751

Our favorite pizza spots in Austin and one of Taylor’s favorite places to stop for wings! Their pizza is NY style making it one of Taylor’s favorites in town (and he’s not an easy pizza critic). This location conveniently located north of downtown so you can avoid the traffic. Stop by if you’re craving a good pizza, but other items on their menu are also perfection, we often get the Italian sub for take out!

Terry Black's Barbecue

Terry Black's Barbecue

1003 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704

If you feel like a stop for BBQ while you’re in Texas is a MUST, we highly recommend Terry Black’s! It’s one of our favorites, though there may be a line, it is always worth the wait!

Ramen Tatsu-ya

Ramen Tatsu-ya

8557 Research Boulevard, Austin, TX 78758

Our go-to on a rainy or cold day!! If you like Ramen, stop by this spot for a yummy meal 🍜

Mi Tradición

Mi Tradición

8716 Research Boulevard, Austin, TX 78758

We love this spot for their tacos and their pan dulce (Mexican pastries)! If you want some good bistec or al pastor tacos with the option of browsing the bakery for some pan dulce, look no further!

La Santa Barbacha

La Santa Barbacha

2806 Manor Road, Austin, TX 78722

The best barbacoa spot in Austin by far! Brenda worked with the owner for a spell and got to experience her dedication to bringing the food of central Mexico to Austin. All of her hard-work has earned La Santa Barbacha a well deserved Michelin award, definitely check them out if you have the chance!

Curra's Hyde Park

Curra's Hyde Park

4215 Duval Street, Austin, TX 78751

Taylor lived very close to this spot when we started dating and it quickly became one of our favorites! Known for their Michoacán and Yucatán dishes, they also have a variety of Tex-Mex favorites! Another spot with great mixed drinks and cocktails, offering a tasty avocado margarita which is our go-to!

Round Top Brewing & Kitchen

Round Top Brewing & Kitchen

101 West Austin Street, Round Top, TX 78954

One of our favorite food spots in Round Top! It’s simple; great beer, great food, great atmosphere. Stop by when you get to Round Top or La Grange!

Royers Round Top Café

Royers Round Top Café

105 Main Street, Round Top, TX 78954

Really good diner style restaurant in Round Top with comfort food classics, but leave room for dessert, their pies are a MUST.

Antone's Record Shop

Antone's Record Shop

2928 Guadalupe Street, Austin, TX 78705

We love it here! Feels like a throwback to 70s and 80s vinyl shops, and they have a wide selection of blues, jazz, and local/Texas artists. If you want to add to your collection, be sure to stop by! There’s also a wide range of neat shops on this strip and next to this shop.

Peter Pan Mini-Golf

Peter Pan Mini-Golf

1207 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704

Operating since 1948! This spot is quirky, and fun for the whole family. We stop here any time we are feeling like a round of mini-golf! Brenda has fond memories going to Peter Pan with family as a child!

Blanton Museum of Art

Blanton Museum of Art

200 East Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Austin, TX 78712

Check out the Blanton - the principal Art museum of the city of Austin! They have site specific installations and rotating exhibits, with expertise in Latin American, American, European, and international contemporary art. Admission is $15 for adults, with lower prices for youth and seniors.

Atown

Atown

5502 Burnet Road, Austin, TX 78756

The best little spot if you want to shop for all things Austin TX, and beyond! It isn't a traditional gift shop, it is the BEST gift shop and they don't only have Austin related things, they have about 7 different rooms and spaces for all of your needs, it is one of Brenda's favorite places to shop for jewelry and candles! A must before heading back home.

Butler Metro Park

Butler Metro Park

1000 Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX 78704

If you want to get outdoors and enjoy an overview of the city, we absolutely love and recommend this park! When the weather is good, it's the perfect spot for a picnic.

Henkel Square Market

Henkel Square Market

102 North Live Oak Street, Round Top, TX 78954

A quaint little square in Round Top with plenty of yummy food options, shopping, art, and antique stores in and around as well as down the street! Definitely recommend it if you're staying in Round Top!
