Aaron and Jessica had their first date on November 22, 2019 at a restaurant in Portland, Oregon for some appetizers and drinks. Aaron was 25 and Jessica was 24, and neither of them were looking for their future partners at the time. However, as they continued to develop their relationship, they soon discovered they belonged together. From the early months of dating during the COVID-19 lockdowns, to hiking all over Oregon and Washington, Aaron and Jessica's relationship blossomed with companionship, loyalty, friendship, and unconditional love for one another. In 2022, Aaron and Jessica purchased their first home together and welcomed their dog, Scout, in March 2023.

In July 2023, Aaron and Jessica took a weekend trip to Seattle, where they planned attending the Mariners game and then a hike around Lake Serene the following day. Aaron surprised Jessica by proposing on this hike. While Jessica had some inclination that Aaron had already purchased a ring and would be proposing soon, she did not expect it to take place during the 9-mile hike. Aaron designed the ring himself and with absolutely no hesitation Jessica said “Yes!” Well actually, she said, “I knew it!” before saying “Yes!” We are so honored to have you join us on our special day as we start our new chapter as a husband and wife and the joining of two families into one. We love you all and are so grateful for your constant support, prayers, and love for us and our future together.
