We met at the end of our first year at Michigan Technological University. For the entirety of our second semester we had been in a class project group with two others. Despite being in this group for 14 weeks, we had never met nor seen each other in person. This class was held completely online due to university health restrictions and none of our group members used our cameras during our meetings. This caused our group to become close virtually, getting to know one another through stories of our high school and overall life experiences. Right before we left for the summer, Josh asked Lena to play pool in the basement of our dorm hall. This meeting away from the classroom led the both of us to discover we had many friends in common already (small school, small world) and we had many similar interests. From there, we made plans to see each other over the summer, met one another's families, and started dating on June 26th, 2021. Who knew an online class and a game of pool could be the start of our forever?
