Hers: Laura had heard about Luke from her friend for years, always thinking that he sounded incredible. He was described as the one who always showed up: to big events, to help when someone was sick, to make you laugh when your heart was breaking. Laura was that way too. She couldn't help but think about how nice it would be to know someone who cares about others as much as she does, to share that value. She finally had her chance to meet him at a Christmas Party in 2015. She remembers walking in, seeing him leaned against the countertop in the kitchen laughing and chatting with friends. He was handsome, witty, and had a contagious laugh. Laura immediately felt a connection and wanted to know more. Often she found herself laughing when no one else was and looking his direction. He had seen photos and read about her sweet gestures on social media, but he hadn’t the pleasure of meeting her himself. That all changed at one Christmas party when he stole a few glances and felt a few being stolen in return. When nobody else was paying attention to his corny jokes it seemed she was, and she recognized them with her infectious smile. He wanted to talk more with her then, but he wasn’t sure her date would appreciate that. From that moment, she was on his mind. Some weeks later, he saw her again on New Year’s Eve. The feelings grew stronger. It was then that he learned she was single. Jackpot. As he grew to know her more, she was always on his mind. One date turned into two. Two into three. He wanted to share every moment with her. He loved food and cooking and so did she. They shared that love and made their first homemade pizza. They celebrated his birthday together with friends, and the next day was the start of 5 years and counting, growing together. When the timing was finally right, he planted one knee firmly in the beaches of the Gulf coast and popped the question. She said yes!
