In the spring of 2021, Sydney and Luke’s love story began at a college evening "gathering." From across the yard, Sydney spotted Luke, the cute blonde boy with dimples. Shocked that she had never run into him at their small college, Sydney couldn’t resist asking one of his baseball teammates (shoutout to Nate Lindberg) if he was single. To her delight, he was! The only hitch? It was the last week of school for the year. Over the summer, they kept in touch, casually chatting and getting to know each other better. Luke even made a trip to St. Peter to see Sydney, though he’ll claim it was purely to attend a friend’s birthday party (sure, Luke!). When school started again in the fall, their connection grew stronger, and by October 2021, they officially became a couple. Their college years were filled with support for each other, with Luke cheering Sydney on at her tennis matches and Sydney doing the same at Luke’s baseball games. In the spring of 2022, Sydney graduated from Gustavus, but she stayed in St. Peter for another year until Luke graduated in 2023. That summer, Luke passed his NCLEX, and they took on a new adventure, moving to Fargo, ND. Luke began his career as a nurse, while Sydney pursued a job in marketing. While in Fargo, Sydney persistently lobbied for a four-legged addition to their family, and by November 2023, Luke finally caved. They now have a 1 year old red lab named Bruno who is the best hunting buddy for Luke and cuddle buddy for Sydney. Life took another exciting turn in the summer of 2024 when Sydney was accepted into law school at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Since then, the couple has been navigating long-distance, proving that love knows no bounds. They’ve embraced this challenge, growing even stronger as a team while pursuing their dreams. Sydney and Luke share a love for spending time together, especially outdoors. Whether it’s camping, hiking, hunting, or simply soaking in nature, they've made countless memories exploring together. They've also been fortunate enough to travel to amazing destinations, including Hawaii, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Arizona, California, and more. It was only fitting that Luke proposed on a camping trip to Bayfield, WI, on October 17, 2024. The weekend was everything they could have dreamed of, and they've been floating on cloud nine ever since. Now, we're counting down the days until August, where we'll officially become husband and wife. We are incredibly grateful for the love and support of family and friends who have been part of our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate this special moment with all of you!
