We met at dinner on spring break through mutual friends. Neither one of us knew the other would be at this dinner, but fate had its way. We were standing outside and met for the first time. The following night, the same group of friends went to dinner again, and we both made sure to catch the attention of the other. Once back in Monroe, we both attended the annual golf fundraiser for Kappa Sigma where one of us (Haley) made a point to give Luke her number through a mutual friend of ours. The rest is history!
12/8/2018 Luke was working in Tulsa, OK with his new job. I was working at the University of Louisiana - Monroe. My younger sister Ashley and I had planned to go home after being in Monroe. Ashley and I had a sleep over on Friday, 12/7/18, at my apartment and decided that the next afternoon, we wanted to go home instead of staying in Monroe. Luke had also planned on traveling home from Tulsa, OK. I had no idea he was even coming back home. On Friday night, I called him to talk and he told me that he was hanging out at a friends house and would probably be out late. On Saturday morning, I had an event to work at ULM. Unfortunately, it was raining the entire time. My feet had gotten soaked and I told my co-workers that I was going to wear my slippers home because my feet were so cold! So after the event, I went home, changed, got my bags and headed south to my parent's house. I got a call from my mom asking to stop and pick up Sonic drinks before I got home. I didn't think anything of it. So, I stopped, got their drinks and continued home. With all five Sonic drinks and my slippers on my feet, I walked into my house, turned the corner and saw Luke standing there. Luke helped me put everything down, took my hands, and got down on one knee. In the middle of the kitchen, with all my family (Kelsie was Face-timing since she was working in Alabama), & my slippers on, Luke Alan Wilson asked me to be his wife!
