Forever&Always

I fell in love with Luke because he makes me laugh so hard I let out a laugh resembling Goofy. I fell in love because of how kind, sweet, and loving he is to me. His smile turns my brown cheeks red, and whenever something happens—good or bad—he’s the first person I want to tell. Luke is kind, sweet, and so full of love that he became my safe place. Our story began through mutual friends in our city’s Police Explorer Program. I noticed him at a Christmas party, standing in a dark green military uniform, and thought he was cute. Later, mutual friends helped us connect, and we started talking and spending time together. Luke was unlike anyone I’d ever met—kind, genuine, and gentle. He became my best friend, my anchor. Soon, we met each other’s families and grew closer, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Our bond was truly tested during Luke’s eight-month Marine deployment. Through countless 13-page front and back letters and creative care packages, we kept our love alive while missing each other; we were not just boyfriend and girlfriend but also the best of friends. When he returned, it was clear we had something unshakable—something destined for more. We couldn't bare to be without one another and always looked forward to the days we planned to spend time together. Over the years, we’ve celebrated milestones like his police academy graduation, my acceptance into nursing school, and getting our first “baby”—our fur baby—as proud PAWents. Together, we’ve built a home, turning it into a space filled with love and laughter. From repainting our home to planting rose bushes to putting in new grass, to furnishing, to putting in shrubs and putting up a fence, every step made it ours. Now, as we prepare to say “I do,” we look back on our incredible journey and look forward to a lifetime of adventures together.
