How the bride and groom were set up is a long story involving in-laws, the University of Wisconsin, and an apartment on Broome St., but after a four hour first date that included shutting the restaurant down, Tory and Luke both knew this one was different. Since that night in the Spring of 2016, Tory and Luke have enjoyed many more dates, and some incredible adventures with their friends, their families, and each other. They have also weathered a few of life's great storms, which has only solidified their commitment to one another. Nevertheless, it's the small things that continue to make them fall in love over and over again - late evenings laughing with family and friends, cooking together, competitive matches of tennis and backgammon, bedtime crosswords, traveling to new places, and a lot of impromptu dancing. After three and a half years of dating and a few hints to Luke about how 2020 seemed like the “perfect year” to get married, Luke proposed to Tory at their home in Austin before a surprise dinner with both of their families. The two of them intended to marry that Fall, but as we all know, 2020 had something else in store for all of us! Covid be darned, Luke and Tory ultimately made the decision to marry on December 19th, 2020 at Saint Michael's Chapel in Dallas. The wedding was attended by the bride and groom's immediate family, along with their two nieces and five nephews who served as flower girls and page boys. Following the ceremony, they all enjoyed a magical and intimate dinner along with some impromptu dancing at The Mansion on Turtle Creek. Tory and Luke thank everyone who has supported and encouraged them during their engagement and they sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding and heartfelt joy when they went forward with their family wedding. The bride and groom cannot wait to FINALLY celebrate with their extended family and friends in Milwaukee this Summer!
