Luke and Stella first met when they were both in high school 14 years ago. Stella was attending Andrews Academy in Berrien Springs, MI while Luke was attending Mona Shores High School in Muskegon, MI. She visited his church with the pastor and other homestay students she was living with when Luke was the only youth of his age at that time. She visited on several occasions whether it was for church service, a Korean cultural festival, ski trips, etc., having interactions with Luke. This was the beginning of his one-sided interest for Stella. However, Stella graduated in 2009 and moved onto college in Northern California. Throughout the time Stella was in California, they kept in touch every couple of years. Stella then graduated from college and moved back to South Korea for a few years. During her time in Korea, Luke chanced upon a written online testimony Stella wrote that was featured in the SDA compass online. This led Luke to check in on Stella through Kakao talk when the conversation persisted for several months during his 2nd year of medical school. Stella brought up the idea of applying for chaplaincy school at Loma Linda University where Luke assisted in the application process, leading her to come to Loma Linda. This was the beginning of their relationship when Luke picked up Stella from LAX airport on August 27, 2017. Their story continues throughout his time in medical school and her time in chaplaincy school, bringing us to their marriage today that will occur on May 31, 2021. 창대군과 수진양은 14여년 전 고등학생 때 처음 만났습니다. 수진양이 같이 머물던 목사님 가정과 함께 창대군 있는 교회를 방문하였습니다. 교회 프로그램들을 통해 시간을 보내면서 창대군이 수진양에게 먼저 관심을 갖기 시작하지만, 수진양은 남가주 켈리포니아로 대학을 떠나게 됩니다. 대학생활에도 서로 가끔 연락을 하다가, 대학졸업 후 수진양은 한국에서 몇년을 머물게 되고 창대군은 마침 수진양에 대한 간증 소식을 인터넷으로 접하게 됩니다. 이것을 기회로 창대군이 의대생 2학년일때에 수진양에게 연락을 다시 하다가 몇달간 지속적으로 대화를 하게 됩니다. 수진양이 이후 로마린다에 chaplaincy 에 관심을 갖게 되고 창대군의 도움을 받아 로마린다로 오게됩니다. 창대군이 수진양을 LA공항에서 2017년 8월 27일 픽업을 합니다. 그날로부터 그들의 여정이 시작되고 서로의 대학원 졸업 및 2021년 5월 31일에 있을 결혼으로까지 이어졌습니다.
