Durango-La Plata Airport (DRO) is the closest—about 40 minutes from Black Diamond Lodge. Larger airports like Albuquerque (ABQ) or Denver (DEN) are also options if you don’t mind a scenic drive.
Rental cars are the easiest way to explore the area (and take in those mountain views). Shuttle and rideshare options are limited, so we recommend renting a car if possible.
We would love for you to stay nearby the lodge! Below is a link with some suggestions. Silverpick condos share a driveway with the venue but there are many options very close to the venue. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ghJpsju8IU9BfBARw46yVuBQz9LT2kp_P1eBkOFfEhQ/edit?usp=sharing
You are welcome to use any of the amenities that the lodge provides because you are a guest of ours. Feel free to hang out at the lodge any time during the weekend. There are hot tubs, pool tables, games and us!
Days are usually warm (70s), but evenings cool down into the 50s once the sun sets. Since part of the celebration will be outdoors, we recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket so you can stay cozy.
The dress code is semi-formal garden party. Think colors, patterns, and fun! Men, please don't worry about a tie or jacket (although it might get chilly!) But dress to impress, linen pants, button up, and florals all welcome! And if black is your stable, that works too! The celebration will be partially outdoors, so we recommend bringing a sweater or jacket for the evening. There is a short walk to the ceremony site on a dirt path, so opt for shoes you’ll be comfortable in: chunky heels, sandals, sneakers, or flats all work well.
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors (weather permitting), with dinner and dancing indoors.
The ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday—please plan to arrive at Lodge by 3:30PM to get settled and have a drink and mingle before our coordinator escorts you to the ceremony site.
Yes—there’s plenty of on-site parking if you’re driving.
Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are very limited in the Durango area and are not reliable near Black Diamond Lodge or Purgatory Resort, especially at night. For ease and flexibility, we recommend staying near Purgatory Resort or Black Diamond Lodge, where most events will take place and where you can walk or enjoy a very short drive. If you plan to stay farther away, we strongly recommend renting a car or scheduling a taxi service. Sunshine Rides is a scheduled taxi service in the area. Rad Transports and Buck Horn Limo are other transportation options.
The lodge requires us to use their bar service during the wedding itself, but please feel free to bring anything you would like to sip on the day before or day after the actual wedding if you plan to hang out there.
We’re so excited to celebrate with our favorite people! Due to space and the setting, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. If your invitation includes a guest or child, their name will appear there.
We love your little ones! While we won’t have on-site childcare, there are local childcare options available for families who’d like to enjoy the evening events while their children stay at their rental. Care.com can be a helpful resource for finding sitters in the Durango area. We recommend booking early, as availability may be limited.
We wish we could say yes, but the lodge only allows our two pups (who will be making a special appearance).
