We recommend drinking more water than you usually would at sea level, make sure you are eating enough throughout the day and also considering drinking electrolytes, use sun protection such as sunscreen and chapstick with SPF (the sun is powerful even in the fall), getting into town 1-3 days before the wedding events begin can help you acclimate, and most importantly, pay attention to your alcohol intake at the reception since you get drunk faster at altitude. We are here to help, so please reach out if there are any specific questions regarding being at high altitude.
The last week of September is peak fall in Colorado and you will get to see the best of our colors. The temperature during the day averages in the 60s and it can drop down to the 30s at night. Our reception will be inside but we recommend having some sort of light jacket for when you are leaving the venue.
We aren't blocking rooms at a specific hotel because Eagle County has a wide range of hotels and accommodations and we want people to be able to stay where they wish. We do have a discounted rate at The Inn at Riverwalk, which is walking distance from the reception location. If booking online, you can use the code HERWED or you can call the hotel directly at 970-926-0606 and mention The Herron Wedding for the discounted rate. This is a great option if you are planning on drinking at the reception.
Ideally we would love to know a month out (end of August) if you will be in attendance.
Yes, we understand that this is a destination wedding for almost all of our guests and it is important to us that you have a good time and you feel comfortable. Just make sure to also RSVP for your plus one when you are RSVP-ing for yourself.
Yes! We have children in our families and feel it is important they are also a part of our day. Please just RSVP for the children in your party when you RSVP. We will have various accommodations for children at our reception such as kid friendly dinner options and plenty of drink options for them to order. We just ask the children in attendance are well behaved throughout the night.
Semi-formal, this means suits, blazers, dress shirts, and ties for men, and cocktail dresses for women, either knee or midi length. We want you to feel and look your best on our day!
It will be at Ed'z in Edwards, the address is 69 Edwards Access Road, Edwards, CO 81632. The company Sierra works for built this restaurant, so it holds a special meaning for her as she played a part in the project coming together.
Please share this with us when you are RSVP-ing. You will have a few different options for the plated dinner for our reception and we will make sure to have an option that considers anyone with allergies or restrictions.
Our cocktail hour will begin at 5:00PM but if you wish to arrive a little bit before then, you can arrive at 4:30PM at the earliest.
We have a small registry included on this website but since we are asking you to travel out of state to celebrate with us, a gift is not expected. Your presence is more than enough and means the world to us.
We will have appetizers during our cocktail hour. There will be an option of ribs, rotisserie chicken, or salmon for the plated dinner along with a salad. We will also have an additional option for anyone with allergies or restrictions. There will be smaller portion options for the children in attendance as well. Lastly, there will be a variety of desserts served at the end of the reception.
Please contact Sierra with your question and she will get you the information and answer you are looking for. Her phone number is 815-351-5041 and email address is sierrascanlan5@gmail.com.
