Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

Our wedding invitations will be sent soon. We kindly ask that RSVPs be returned by September 15, 2026. A courtesy reminder will be sent around September 1, 2026. Guests who do not respond by the deadline may have their spot offered to someone else.

Where will the wedding taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both take place at Dragonfly Wedding Venue, located at 1826 W Oak St, Herrin, IL 62948. Guests will not need to travel between locations, as all wedding festivities will be held at the venue.

Is parking available?

Answer

Yes! On-site parking is available at the venue. Please note that the parking area is rock, so we recommend wearing appropriate footwear.

What is the dress code? What to avoid?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail to formal. We kindly ask that guests do not dress more casually than cocktail attire. Examples of cocktail attire include knee-length or midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, suits, dress shirts with slacks, and dress shoes. Please avoid casual attire such as jeans, shorts, graphic t-shirts, and/or flip-flops. NOTE: White dresses are not allowed. If worn, you will be escorted out of the venue.

Are we indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony is planned to be outdoors, with the reception indoors in a temperature-controlled area. In the event of inclement weather, we can move the ceremony indoors.

Is it okay to take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. We’ve hired a professional photographer to capture the moment. There will be a designated time during the ceremony when you’re invited to take photos on your phone if you’d like, otherwise our full gallery will be shared once we get it!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Only guests whose names are listed on the invitation may attend. Any additional plus ones need to be approved by us in advance due to limited space.

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We’re happy for your kids to attend! The ceremony will be adults-only, but they’re welcome to hang out in the reception area during that time. The reception space is temperature-controlled and will have board games and an art station for them.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes! The venue is wheelchair accessible. A golf cart will be available to transport guests from the parking area, and ramps are in place for easy access. However, please note that the parking lot is rock, so plan accordingly.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please let us know as soon as possible so we can explore options to accommodate your dietary needs.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We’re planning a self-serve open bar. We’ll be providing alcohol we are hoping to receive from our wedding shower. Guests are welcome to bring their own. NOTE: THE VENUE DOES NOT ALLOW GLASS BEER BOTTLES/ WINE COOLERS Nonalcoholic beverages will also be provided.

Will we see you Monday morning before we leave?

Answer

Probably not. We’ll be heading into a disconnected mini-moon right after the wedding.

Do we have to bring a gift?

Answer

Gifts are absolutely not required. Your travel to witness our marriage will be more than enough. If you feel inclined, we do have a registry available. Monetary gifts to help with wedding expenses or gift cards for experiences and date nights are also appreciated.

Is it okay to post wedding photos on social media?

Answer

Absolutely! We’d love for you to share photos on social media. Tag us if you can. And please send them our way (:
