Here we go!

2004...wow. A time when we were very different, very young(15), and both on different paths in life...until one day at good ol’ Chisago Lakes Hockey Arena. Rhiannon lived and went to school in Pine City, MN. But she and others played high school hockey for Chisago Lakes, where I went to school. Pine City did not have enough girls for a full team, so Rhiannon traveled to our rink everyday after school and co-op’ed with our girls team. One day, while watching us practice, Rhiannon became curious about who the huge guy out there hitting everyone was. Eventually, we crossed paths when a few teammates and I were heading up to the parking lot after practice and the girls were just getting on the ice to start theirs. A quick introduction was had, the boys and I left and the girls went on the ice for practice. Keep in mind, at this point in time I am THE shyest human being on the planet. Never had a girlfriend up to that point, let alone talk to one that likes me. That same week on Friday night, I’m at home just hanging out watching TV and I get a call from Rhiannon, I didn’t answer. She called again, I didn’t answer(I’m so shy!). She called me two more times, so I finally picked up. “Hi, is this Luke?” “Yes, what’s up?” “Hey it’s Rhiannon and there’s a party out of town and you need to go.” We go back and forth for a few minutes and I finally agree to go out to this party. I met up with Rhiannon inside the barn where everyone was and we just kinda hung out and talked. From there, the spark was started and we ended up talking that night on the phone for like 7 hours, getting to know each other. It’s hard to explain the feeling, but I instantly knew we were in for the long haul😊❤️ Our first picture👇🏼
