Luke and I were set up by my sister, Gaby. As she devised a plan for Luke and I to meet, she casually spoke about him with a glowing admiration. On December 8th, I took the dreaded GRE and desperately needed a drink afterwards, so Gaby and her husband, Patrick, arranged a small get-together at Shoals in Deep Ellum. Gaby asked, "is it okay if some of Patrick's friends come?" I thought, "the more the merrier," and brought along my friend, Mary. Turns out Luke was the only one of Patrick's friends that made it. A couple of hours at Shoals turned into all-night chatting and game sesh at Gaby and Patrick's. Luke contacted me the morning after with an invitation to play music with him sometime and the rest is history. -Paulina Thank you, Gabe. -Luke
Luke asked me to wake up early the morning after our friends' wedding. Between going to bed late and waking up early with the Daylight Savings time change, I was tired but eager to embark on the date that Luke had been planning. Luke and I were supposed to travel to Paris that day, but due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we decided to cancel. My sadness didn't last long because Luke suggested that we plan surprise date days for each other in Dallas, and he was up first. We parked in front of the Dallas Museum of Art which holds a special place in our hearts and Luke fibbed that our first stop was breakfast. But we only had to walk a few steps for Luke to stop me in my tracks and ask me to marry him. -Paulina Can confirm. -Luke
