For many the story would start with how we met or how we first realized we were interested in one another, but the story of our love would be incomplete if we did not first talk about a far greater love. Without the love of God our love would not be so special. The two of us were raised believing we were Christians, but to tell the truth we each had distorted views of what that meant. We were each lost in our sins and were trying to earn salvation through how we lived our lives. Though the circumstances were different, we both had to come to the end of our own strength before we decided to rely on Christ’s love for us instead. The love we share is a reflection of the depth of love that God showed when he sent his son Jesus Christ to shed his glory and come down to earth to live a perfect life, suffer, and die on the cross for our sins. Even though we did not know him and we rebelled against him in how we lived our lives, Christ still chose to sacrifice his own life so that we might be adopted as children of God. We pray that we can love one another in a way that would capture even a fraction of that depth!
