A 2020 wedding

Changing the plans

We got engaged while hiking in Sedona, Arizona in August of 2019. We both dreamed of celebrating our special day with all of our friends and family, however that dream seemed far from reality. With such unpredictable times we decided to change our plans from a traditional wedding and instead, we enjoyed an intimate sunset ceremony halfway up Cathedral Rock Trail in Sedona, Arizona. We celebrated with a champagne toast and shared our first dance as husband and wife on top of the majestic red rocks. It was truly magical. 2020 has been a crazy year for us all, but as we look back we can't help but recognize some of the blessings it's provided as well. Although we wanted a traditional wedding, we're grateful to have had the opportunity to make our day a little more intimate and in our favorite place. Because we downsized the wedding, we were also able to afford a house, something we were not expecting to achieve this year. We're beyond blessed to be able to share this news with you and hope too see you all very soon!

Events of the Day

We stayed in beautiful Sedona Arizona and had an intimate "rehearsal dinner" by the pool of our hotel. The following day we enjoyed getting all dressed up with the guys and gals! We headed to the Cathedral Rock trail head. Luke, best man, officiant and parents of the groom hiked up half way and set up the ceremony spot. Logan (Kelsey's Little brother) did some incredible trail hiking/running to pack in everything for the ceremony. Kelsey hiked in with her parents and maid of honor. Luke and Kelsey shared a first look before beginning the ceremony. The ceremony was lead by Kelsey's former boss and more importantly dear friend Jason. It was personalized to Kelsey and Luke and the true story of their love. Kelsey and Luke shared their own vows. The ceremony was concluded by a champagne toast from Kelsey's father. They enjoyed the traditional first dance, father daughter dance and mother son dance on the red dirt surrounded by the beauty of Sedona. While parents and officiant cleaned up for dinner the rest of the party made the climb to the top of Cathedral Rock where they captured photos at sunset. The night was concluded by a delicious steak dinner in a private wine room at a local Sedona restaurant.
