How We Met

A Firefighter Walks into a Bar...

Sounds like the beginning of a joke right? Well, it's actually the start of our story! Luke came into a bar in the middle of nowhere PA with his friends and it just so happened that I was his waitress. A few jokes, a few beers, and a lot of laughs later and we went our separate ways! Or so I thought. He had left me his number on the back of his receipt, but he called back into the bar to make sure I got it because I was "the most beautiful woman he had ever seen." How can a woman say no to that? So I texted him the next day and the rest is history.

Our First Date

A mix-up, a zoo, and fireworks

A few weeks later, we went on our first date. Luke planned the whole thing. First, lunch at a restaurant, then onto the Allentown Zoo. I got to the bar first and was waiting and waiting. Then he texted me saying he got us a table on the patio. Turns out, there were two of the same restaurants within 10 miles of each other! He got to mine eventually and we had a big laugh about it! He was the perfect gentleman the entire time, opening doors, asking to hold my hand at the zoo. It was so perfect, so much fun! Then, as we were leaving the zoo, I asked, "What do you want to do now?" His response? "I have a few ideas" He spun me around and we had our first kiss in the parking lot of the zoo. The spark was immediate and honestly? My foot popped like in those old movies.

The Proposal

Who else had a man pop the question going 70 mph 180 feet in the air!?

Luke took me to Dorney Parks Halloween Haunt on October Friday the 13th, 2023. Perfect date for the horror fanatic, especially since Dorney Park is one of our favorite spots. We got dinner and rode all the rides, having a blast getting scared by the actors and enjoying lightshows! It was the end of the night and the last ride we were in line for was my favorite, a roller-coaster named Possessed (look up a video of it, it's wild). We got on the ride, first row and it launched. At the top of the ride, out of nowhere, I heard, "WILL YOU MARRY ME!?" I turned and Luke is holding a ring box. I screamed YES, cried, lost my mind. Honestly, I will never experience adrenaline like that for as long as I live. It was the most epic, insane thing to ever happen to us and I am so touched by the effort he put into it. And the ring was just as perfect as the proposal.
