There is beach access as well as a pier you can walk out on. Great place to go for a walk. We actually considered having the wedding here.
Some nice trails to walk. We often see snakes and frogs along the trails near some of the ponds. There is also a heron rookery and a few beaver lodges.
The field station is a part of SUNY Oswego. We have both taken classes and conducted research here. Public access to the building is usually for events only but there are several miles worth of nature trails to walk with a good mix of wildlife to see.
If you are looking to sit down and eat this is a safe bet. We went here on our first date and have repeatedly returned. They can be a little pricy with some items, but the food is always good.
