Tucked away in the woods of Nashville and sitting on 325 acres is Hard Truth Hills restaurant and distillery. Elle worked for Hard Truth during her college summers and it's one of Luke and Elle's favorite restaurants to visit in Nashville. They recommend the smoked wings and Luke's favorite, the Six Foot Blonde Golden Ale (no, not named after Elle but she gets that a lot). If you're here for the weekend they feature live bands on Friday evenings or if you're up for an adventure they have ATV tours of the property with stops along the way to taste their Hard Truth Distilling Co. Spirits and Quaff ON! Brewing Co. beer.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Nashville is one of Luke and Elle's favorite "cozy" restaurants. Full of history, the Hobnob is the oldest commercial building in Brown County. Built in 1868, the structure was first used as a dry goods grocery and sundries store. No beer here but they do offer a wonderful selection of wine paired with a rotating menu of comfort food! If you're coming to town Friday evening, we definitely recommend this stop for an atmosphere full of charm and history!
One of Indiana's "hidden gems"! Rich in history dating back to 1851, when Dr. George Story established the village. The village prospered as a logging and farming community before the Great Depression, which led to it's decline and eventual near-abandonment. Today it operates as a destination lodging, restaurant, and dive bar, showcasing it's historic buildings and atmosphere. If you're coming to town on Friday make sure to make reservations for dinner. Story Inn offers upscale dining for sophisticated pallets-but attire is casual. The menu frequently changes based on the micro-seasons of the Story Culinary Garden's and what is sourced from local food providers. Just looking for a place to grab a drink? No need for reservations, the dive bar is located in the basement of the restaurant. Stop in for a drink and karaoke on Friday from 9:00pm-11:00pm. Swing by before heading out of town for brunch reservations on Sunday from 10:00am-2:00pm.
The Ferguson house was originally built in 1873 as a boarding house. Allie Ferguson hosted many artists and visitors over the years. Since then The Ferguson House has been many things - an antique shop, a retail shop, apartments, and now a bistro and bar with the upstairs being available for overnight stay in one of their suites. This is a great spot for dinner but make sure to make reservations. Luke and Elle enjoy grabbing a beer in the Fall at the Ferguson House courtyard beer garden that often hosts live music this time of year. Cheers to the weekend and enjoy the indoor/outdoor atmosphere that the Ferguson House has to offer!
Start your morning off right with coffee and pastries house-made from scratch! This coffee shop is Luke and Elle's favorite in town. Elle opts for an Americano while Luke's favorite is a Caramel Latte with their breakfast croissant. You're sure to love their cozy and charming atmosphere!
