We met in the summer of 2014 working at Camp Illiana. Luke had worked there for many years and I had always gone as a camper since I was a kid. When I finally got the opportunity to work at camp the summer after my freshman year of college, I just thought that it would be a summer of fun with my friend Liza. I remember meeting Luke the first day of orientation for the summer. He was funny and quick-witted and I knew that he was going to be a fun person to be around all summer. We flirted all summer and I don't think either of us really thought anything more of it than just a summer romance. I worked in the kitchen, and Luke would always find a way to end up doing dishes with me, even though he worked outside doing maintenance and running elements for the campers. People joked that they'd never seen him in the kitchen so much until I started working there. Things got more serious when he asked me on our first official date outside of camp and we got ice cream at the famous Scoops in Washington, IN. I talked the ENTIRE time and Luke hardly got a word in, but it was the start of something great. A concert later, and a few times hanging out around camp, Luke asked me to be his girlfriend and our romance went past just the summer. We are so excited to celebrate our marriage in the place where it all started.
