It was a lucky day when Luke and Courtney met—St. Patrick's Day in Chicago. Courtney and a couple of her friends had wandered over to her neighbor’s house party. While mingling, Courtney noticed Luke weaving his way through the crowd, clearly on a mission to get a better view of the TV. One detail immediately stood out: he wasn’t wearing any green. Naturally, she had to call him out on that. Luke explained that Purdue basketball was playing Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament, and there was no way he could wear green that day. Courtney, an alum of University of Michigan, completely understood the sentiment—and maybe even respected it. Luke reached out to Courtney later that week to set up a first date. And the rest as they say, is history.
