Courtney and Luke met in North Carolina while Courtney was an undergrad at UNC and Luke was a grad student at Duke. They enjoyed the rivalry between their schools, exploring the restaurants and breweries of the Triangle, and many nights in at the Oxford house. They supported each other as Courtney worked towards applying to PA school and Luke worked through his PhD. Courtney then moved to Miami, FL for PA school and the two were long distance for 2 years. Luke moved to Alexandria, VA for the final year of his PhD. The silver lining of Covid for them was that they got a break from long distance when Courtney quarantined with Luke for two months in Alexandria while she was in school virtually. Luke finished his degree and moved back to San Diego, where he had gone to college and where Courtney and Luke dreamed of living after they both finished school. Courtney followed a few months later and finished her degree from San Diego. Luke proposed to Courtney on their fifth anniversary and was able to pull off a successful surprise. They are so excited to both be done earning their degrees, enjoying their careers and living their dream together on the west coast. They recently adopted their dog, Disco. They can't wait to bring all of their family and friends together to celebrate on their wedding day.
