How We Met

We met our freshman year of high school, spending our passing periods together since we never shared a single class. Somewhere along the way, Luke asked Chelsea to the homecoming dance—and even asked her to be his girlfriend. He jokingly added, “Will you marry me?” At the time, Chelsea’s answer was an obvious no. But as it turned out, that wouldn’t be her answer forever. As the years went by, we grew up side by side and learned so much along the way. We also began attending our church, King of Kings, together, growing in our faith and learning to rely fully on Jesus Christ. When Luke and Chelsea decided it was time to get married, Luke took on the challenge of surprising the smartest girl ever—with a proposal and a ring. He proposed at the Phoenix Botanical Garden, asking Chelsea to marry him for the second time. After all, if it doesn’t work the first time, try, try again… and this time, it worked. Chelsea said yes!

A Psalm of David

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. God calms us down and leads us to places we couldn't even take ourselves if we tried. He is our resting place and perfect savior. We must rely on him in every passing moment. In Christ alone we are redeemed. May the Prince of peace be with you!
