Although our families had been friends for many years, we didn’t meet until summer 2018, when we struck up a conversation at bible study. We instantly became fast friends, bonding over similar life goals and senses of humor. The summer included many late-night texts, long walks, and evenings of ultimate frisbee with friends. Over the following two years, we spent a lot of time together – and apart – and had many adventures, including getting stung by jellyfish in Savannah, admiring ancient Athenian architecture, and enjoying an August Fort Meyers downpour.
