Only a 20 minute drive from downtown Charlotte, you can enjoy outdoor activities such as zip-lining, whitewater rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, and more. If you’re planning on extending your trip a few days, this is a great option!
Crowders Mountain State Park
This hike is about 40 minutes from downtown Charlotte. It has beautiful views and trails. A great option if you have some extra time and want to get some fresh air!
NASCAR Hall of Fame
If you’re interested in racing, visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame to enjoy artifacts and exhibits. This in downtown Charlotte, so you can easily add it to your itinerary!
Asheville
Asheville is about 2 ½ hours from downtown Charlotte. If you’re extending your stay and looking for a great day trip or overnight trip, this is a great option! The mountain views are beautiful with great hiking in the area. There are also trendy breweries, restaurants, and shops in the downtown area. It is also home to the famous Biltmore Estate, a must-see if you go to Asheville!
Coastal Areas
If you have a few extra days and want to explore more of the state, North Carolina has beautiful beaches. And if you’re visiting the Outer Banks, you may even see wild horses! Wilmington is a coastal town with more activities and is a popular spot for filming.
