We’re getting married!

You know the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words"? Well, for us a photo was simply the start of a conversation that lead to a relationship. Lukas saw a picture of a smiling girl in mutual friend's photo on social media and he couldn't wait to say hi. I received a message from this cute boy saying he loved my smile and simply wanted to say hi. I was flattered and couldn't resist to thank him. From there, like a spark of fire our conversations grew from simple small talk to deep conversations.

Planning surprise birthday parties can be dangerous work.. You have to know who's in the know and who you are trying to surprise. Lukas's birthday was coming up and a surprise birthday party was in order! Weeks leading up to the date of the surprise party, Lukas was constantly asking what was planned for his birthday and I would always respond with "Oh, I'm not sure.." Day of the big surprise, We arrive to the where we were greeted with friends and family surrounding us. It was absolutely perfect. But the best part was yet to come. It came to open presents for Lukas and he recruited the help of our nieces and nephew to open the large box. After diving into what seem to be endless boxes within boxes, a smaller box was presented with my name on it. Quickly opening the box, a small ring box appeared. One of the little nieces grabbed the ring box and pulled out my ring and exclaimed how sparkly it was! Quickly retrieving the ring, Lukas presents the ring to me, with a simple question, "Wanna say yes?" All in all, what I thought was going to be a surprise party for Lukas turned out to be a surprise proposal for me. It was the best day ever.
