We went there on Jacob's first visit to Brazil and it is a must see! Catch the tram at the Corcovado train station for an amazing jungle ride to one of the seven wonders of the world.
Parque Lage, once a royal garden, is a captivating park nestled at the foot of Corcovado Mountain. The park was built in 1808 and contains many different plants and trees spread over 140 acres. You will see monkeys climbing in the trees here and, if you're feeling brave, you can follow them into the jungle for a 2 hour hike to Christ the Redeemer.
We recommend staying in a hotel with a view to the most famous beach in Brazil, it's just breathtaking!
Sugarloaf mountain is a peak at the mouth of Guanabara Bay on a peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Rising 1,299 ft above the harbor, the peak is named for its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar. It is known worldwide for its cableway and panoramic views of the city and beyond.
This is a must place to go if you're visiting Rio. It's Jacob's favorite place to drink caipirinhas and eat empadinhas or as he calls "chicken cupcake".
