Like many modern love stories, ours began the old-fashioned way… on a dating app. Luiza and Jeremy matched on April 27, 2024 — which also happens to be Luiza’s birthday. At the time, Luiza was at Stagecoach Festival fully embracing her country-music era when they started chatting. Little did she know that the match she made that day would end up being her best birthday gift. Just three days later, Luiza was walking along The Strand in Hermosa Beach and casually invited Jeremy to meet her. Jeremy jumped on his bike and rode down… only to realize he literally had to chase her (Luiza walks very fast). After finally catching up, they talked for a bit and confirmed their plans for their first official date at La Playita, in Hermosa Beach. The first date went great — the kind where you talk nonstop and suddenly hours have passed. Soon after, Luiza had extra tickets to a small country concert and invited Jeremy along. After a fun night, Jeremy drove Luiza home, and just before she got out of the car… they shared their first kiss. Not long after, Luiza’s back started acting up badly. Jeremy stepped in with plenty of massages, quickly proving he was a keeper. Around the same time, Jeremy decided to run an important test: introducing Luiza to his mom. While they were hanging out at his mom’s house in Hermosa, she arrived home and the introductions were made. Luckily for Jeremy, the two got along right away. Then came summer — full of cowboy hats, boots, and a lot of country concerts (more than ten, to be exact). Even though they were basically inseparable, the official relationship status was still… a little unclear. Jeremy wasn’t quite ready to define things yet. But Luiza, being patient, optimistic, and a little determined, simply kept showing up, supporting him, and trusting things would fall into place. Then Luiza invited Jeremy to Brazil to meet her family. Jeremy thought about it… and thought about it… and thought about it some more (a classic Jeremy move). Luiza helped him get his passport ready and patiently waited for him to decide. In November, Jeremy took his very first international trip — and fell in love with Brazil. He met Luiza’s family, enjoyed beach days, coconut water, cold beers, and incredible Brazilian food. According to Jeremy, this is also when he asked Luiza to be his girlfriend… although Luiza somehow never heard the question. When they returned from Brazil, both were dealing with roommate issues. Luiza suggested the obvious solution: Jeremy should move in with her. After some serious thinking (again… very Jeremy), he agreed because, as he put it, “it just made sense.” Finally, in mid-December, Luiza decided it was time for a clear answer and asked Jeremy what their relationship status actually was. Jeremy confirmed what everyone already knew: she was his girlfriend. Life together quickly proved to be pretty amazing. They spent their time cooking together, traveling to Mexico and Hawaii, and building a home side by side. In September 2025, Jeremy and Luiza flew Luiza’s parents from Brazil to spend time with them in California. It was filled with fun memories, lots of good wine, and Jeremy officially winning over Luiza’s parents — who absolutely adore him. Then on Thanksgiving, Jeremy surprised Luiza by proposing in front of his entire family — a moment filled with love, excitement, and plenty of happy tears. And now they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their story with all of you. After all, their love story is the perfect balance: Jeremy brings the careful thinking, Luiza brings the bold decisions… and together they make life one beautiful adventure.
