Bridesmaid
The first best friend of my life, my sister Silvia. Growing up I always wished I was not the oldest so I had someone to look up to and learn from. As we grew older, I realized she was the one I looked up to, she is very disciplined, strong, and smart. I may not tell her this enough, I feel so blessed and lucky to call her my sister and also my best friend for life, I’m so proud of her and very thankful for her wisdom that she continues to share. Luis and I are very thankful for all her support and unconditional love. We couldn’t say I do without her.
Bridesmaid
My soon to be sister forever! Erika is Luis’s older sister and protector of her little brother. She’s always been our cheerleader and is always excited to celebrate Luis and I on our accomplishments. From when we first became parents to when we became engaged. I’m excited to marry her brother, and share their last name-- Domínguez! But most importantly assure her and my beloved father in law, Roman Dominguez, that Luis is in good hands, I’ll protect him and care for him with my whole heart, until death to us part. Now the biggest day of our lives wouldn’t be complete without her!
Maid of Honor
She is more than a little sister, more than her title in our special day, and she is more than my best friend. If someone were to ask me years ago if "Olive" was going to be my maid of honor, and grow to be more than my best friend, I'd chuckle. We were like water and oil when we were younger. However, as time went by we realized we were practically- twins! Olivia has gone more than above and beyond not only for me, but for Luis, and for Rosalia. She is always there when we need her, and when we don't, which truly always makes my day. Everyone needs an Oli in there life, trustworthy, reliable, faithful, loyal, and honestly much more. My life wouldn't be complete without my little sister, I need her so much more than she know;, she is my sun when days are gloomy. Which is why she is the Maid of Honor!
Matron of Honor
More than just an “aunt” more than a friend, a mentor, an ear, and a shoulder. Deisy was one of the first family members I first met when Luis and I were dating. She radiates warmth and all at the same time has so much energy, and dance moves, like no other. She has been there for Luis and I through thick and thin. She’s someone that can be trusted and can be relied on. I know I don't stand alone when I say our family is lucky to have her. Our world and every family needs people like my Matron of Honor, she is a continuous reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. I’m very excited to officially be her family forever. Saul, her husband, wasn’t the only that won by picking her, we did too!
Bridesmaid
Meli is Luis's younger sister, soon to be my young sister too, although I already see her like my sis! She is more than a kind person, she is a radiant beacon with a big heart shining brightly on all those around her. She may or may not hear this often, but Meli is a strong mother, she is resilient. Her incredible strength is truly inspiring. Bella is blessed to have Meli as a mother and Luis and I also feel so blessed to have her and Bella in our lives! The biggest day of our lives wouldn't be complete without her.
Groomsman
Growing up, we fought like hell. One time, he ripped a bag of hot Cheetos out of my hands and they flew everywhere. As the big brother, my mom forced me to clean it all up. He played Zombies only when I was in the room because he was scared to play it at night. Look at him now, he’s a grown man. He’s tough on the outside but a softie inside. He still holds my mom’s hand. My little brother is grown up and has always stayed out of trouble. I’m proud of him and I was happy when he agreed to be a part of my wedding. He didn’t say much but I think he was speechless. I hope he knows that I’ll always be there when he needs me.
Groomsman
We are a close knit family. We weren’t the best well off which means we lived in one house at one point. I remember having to take the school bus to a bad school because we moved mid-semester. When my little sister, 6, would cry hysterically before getting on the bus, Alexis at 7 years old, would stay calm as a cucumber. He was the cool guy on that bus and it helped me not go crazy when my sister would get hysterical about going to school We were always anxious having to go so far for school but he was always calm. Fast forward 20 years and he’s still that calm cool guy. Always making light of the situation and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him nervous. That’ll help me on my special day.
Groomsman
My uncle was the first one to offer helping us with our wedding. We felt his excitement and enthusiasm. It was a no-brainer to ask him to be my groomsmen. In recent years, we’ve grown very close. We spend hours talking about our struggles and I go to him for advice. He’s the big brother I never had and I can trust him with anything. He’s my right hand man.
Groomsman
My baby cousin and I grew up together. I helped him learn how to walk and changed his diapers a few times. All jokes aside, we experienced special moments at the same time. We went to kinder together, were bullied by Fannie, graduated high school, we spent all-nighter’s at UIC’s library, we would go to the gym and immediately get Whoppers with cheese right after. Why would they build a Burger King across the gym? I love all my cousins, we’re all close. But I couldn’t have chosen a better person better to have at my side to experience life with.
Groomsman
I met this shy quiet guy when he just moved from Mexico. I heard stories about him beating up his teacher in high school. Not gonna lie, I was intimidated but he’s a bigger teddy bear than Yessenia! We’ve spent countless hours singing Joan Sebastian at the top of our lungs. We’ve gone to random bars and cleared out everyone at pool. I once helped him to his house drunk and we both slipped on ice and busted our ass. Yessenia was laughing hysterically in the car. I can count on him when needed. Yessenia can count on him when needed. He was offended that I didn’t ask him to be my groomsman sooner. Full disclosure: the teacher deserved it.
Flower Girl
Rosalia and Bella are two peas in a pod, they do not call each other cousins, they call each other sisters and best friends. They look out after each other, love to play, do arts and crafts, and love sleepovers at our house! They are both our daughters.
