Maid of Honor
Kelly and I have been best friends since high school; we called ourselves the Wu-Lu club. We spent a lot of time crafting, usually with disastrous results. We learned that it is not always cheaper to make than to buy, but it is more fun. We also celebrate our friendship anniversary every May.
Best Man
My cousin, and though we may no longer live in the same state, one of my best friends since the day he was born. I had the pleasure of being the best man at his wedding and I'm incredibly excited to have him as mine now that it's my turn.
Bridesman
I met Andrew during college freshman orientation week and we became close because our dorms were only a floor apart. We also lived together for 2 years where we ate our weight in spicy ramen, stir-fry, and nachos. From lounging around in sweatpants playing video games to going full-out for a night out, I've been through it all with Andrew.
Groomswoman
Also my cousin! And probably the only friend I've know longer than Jonny, considering the two of us were born just three days apart. Thanks for putting up with me all these years, and not getting too mad when I sit on you at every family gathering!
Bridesmaid
Anisha is one of my Chi O pledge class sisters. She accompanied me wedding dress shopping and proceeded to take many pictures and super detailed notes of my likes and dislikes to send me afterwards. That's just the kind of person Anisha is-- dependable and always willing to go the extra mile for people.
Groomsman
My brother, and the next oldest of the Herbert brothers. Devon and I have had our ups and downs like most brothers. But through the years, he's always been an important part of my life. So proud to watch him off at college, becoming an adult and to have him next to me at my wedding!
Bridesmaid
Daniela is another one of my Chi O pledge class sisters. Our friendship is measured solely by the number of impromptu late night drives to Taco Bell and Chipotle. I can always count on her for late night food runs and real talk at 2AM.
Groomswoman
Though she was never formally adopted, Elizabeth is my sister. We met through all our years together in the Indianapolis Children's Choir. And she's always been a friend I can talk to about anything, no matter long we go between seeing each other.
Bridesmaid
Dasia is also one of my Chi O pledge class sisters. She really got me out of my antisocial shell sophomore year by having weekly lunch dates (I put as Dasia Dates on my calendar). Dasia is someone I can always depend on to bring energy when I am feeling low.
Groomsman
Patrick and I met through our work at Queen of Angels, but we quickly became fast friends outside of that. Bar the latest Spider-Man, he and I have gone to the premiere of every MCU movie together since we became friends. Super excited for Black Widow and The Eternals, and even more excited to have Patrick with me on my wedding day!
Bridesmaid
Jessica is my Chi O little. I was so nervous at first that she wouldn’t choose me to be her big, but luckily she did! I sometimes call her “Yessica” to show my parental disapproval of her life choices. When she disapproves of my life choices, she will yell "LENA LU!"
Groomsman
Another friend and singer from Queen of Angels, Stuart's been a good friend to me since the first day I started. He's always there to make sure that I (and everyone else) are doing okay like a big mother bear. So glad I get to sing and work with such a lovely and thoughtful friend.
Bridesman
Matt was my first college friend! We met on a pre-orientation camping trip where he talked to me despite the serious anti-social vibes I was exuding. Later that day, I shared my trail mix to save him from dying from low blood sugar. Friendship established.
Groomsman
Kavin and I met through a mutual friend back in 2015, and bonded over a shared love of Monster Hunter. Years later, we still play games together every week, with Kavin running our current Pathfinder campaign for the last 2 years! And though he may make me suffer emotionally in-game, I am incredibly excited to have one of my best friends here with me on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Stella is another Chi O pledge class sister. She was my study buddy for Real Analysis, and we both almost failed. Nothing bonds you more than crying over math that doesn’t use numbers. Whether it is studying together or hanging out, Stella never fails to make me laugh.
