Designed by the same landscape architects that built Central Park. Prospect Park is smaller, less crowded and filled with walking trails and places to escape. Brooklynites swear its better than Central Park (not sure we agree but it’s a great place to relax).
Located on the northeast corner of Prospect Park, the Botanic Garden is a beautiful place to wander aimlessly.
Walk along the east river enjoying views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty, while checking out the unique parks perched on each pier. If you enter from the south, you can continue under the Brooklyn Bridge and enter Dumbo for food and iconic views of the two bridges. Enter at Park Pier 6 and walk north, or Pier 1 and walk south!
Starting in Brooklyn: Head west over the bridge and you will exit into the financial district. From there, you can either make your way back towards the east river to enjoy the Seaport district, walk south through Wall Street towards Battery Park and the tip of Manhattan, or walk north towards Chinatown. Starting in Manhattan: Head east over the bridge and you will exit into Downtown Brooklyn (almost). Make your way back towards the east river to enjoy Dumbo/Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Grab a seat in the backyard and enjoy one of the city’s best local beers. Their burgers/bar food are very good as well.
Our favorite place for sandwiches! Great to pick up and bring to the park.
They have a large outdoor area and serve great pit-smoked BBQ. They are located right next door to the Green Building (our wedding venue).
