As August is peak hotel season for Solana Beach specifically, we highly recommend looking into local Airbnbs. Some close neighborhoods that are both cute and convenient would be Carlsbad (15 min drive), Encinitas (10 min drive), Oceanside (20 min drive) and La Jolla (15 min drive).
