We met while serving at an event at church called Married Life! At the time, neither of us pursued one another because we didn't really think about it and didn't feel ready. A few months later, we started to run into each other more and a spark developed! During yet another event at church, I accidentally hit Jessica in the head with a basketball and somehow that didn't scare her away. After spending some more quality time together, I asked her out and we went on our first date! Leading up to that night I had the worst butterflies of my life, but the moment I saw her everything felt still and relaxed. That night we went to Dragonfly Sushi in downtown Gainesville and had the most incredible time getting to know each other. After dinner, we went over to a pool hall and played a few games of pool. As a competitive person, I gave it my all, but Jessica was the victor! She may have won that night, but I have won everyday since because she has been by my side. After the first date, we both knew this was going somewhere special. On November 23rd, 2018, I asked her if we wanted to be my second scoop (a.k.a my girlfriend) during our date to an ice cream shop and she said yes!!! Since that day, life has been great! Not always perfect, but better because we have each other. I knew early on while dating that Jessica was the woman I had prayed for. Over the spring and summer of 2019, we began to talk more about marriage and started to look at rings. Knowing her sister would only be in the states for a year and the fact that I didn't want to wait much longer, I started to plan the engagement. On September 17th, 2019 at Sweetwater Reserve, the location of our first kiss, I prayed for us and got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. SHE SAID YES!!!
