FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We decided to move the cocktail hour to after the ceremony (the invitation is wrong and we’re sending out addendums). The ceremony is at 4:00 PM and there are no events before that. There will be a shuttle service from the Fairfield Inn in Freeport, to Smiths boat yard, to the ceremony location, which takes about 25 minutes total.

Question

What happened to the cocktail hour?

Answer

We’re moving the cocktail hour to after the ceremony so there’s no more need to RSVP to the cocktail hour. The ceremony’s time on the invitation is correct (4:00 PM) and there are no events before that. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have our registry on this website in the Registry section. We understand that the travel can be difficult and expensive, and we are grateful for all who can attend- your presence is a gift in and of itself. Please do not feel obligated to give any gifts, but we have included some cash funds below that will go towards our honeymoon and newlywed life!

Question

Will there be any events on the 27th or 29th?

Answer

At this time, we don’t have any events planned on the 27th or 29th (outside of the wedding party). We know travel to and from Portland can be difficult to schedule and we don’t want anyone to worry about booking their itineraries around events other than the wedding.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We’re hoping everyone can RSVP by May 1st but if you need more time, please let us know.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our wedding is cocktail attire, and for summer in coastal Maine we suggest: mid length dresses, elegant separates, sport coats & pants or suits. Please no white!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Anyone who we expected to bring a date has been given a guest on their RSVP. If you don’t have a guest and wish to bring one, please reach out to us as soon as possible.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

The wedding will be kid-friendly and any kids we expected to come have been added to their parents’ RSVPs. If you have children you’d like to bring that we haven’t included, please let us know.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have a hotel block booked at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Freeport, but there are lots of other hotel options in the area. The shuttle will be stopping only at the Fairfield Inn & Suites.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! If you let us know of any dietary restrictions in advance, we’ll tell the caterers and they will accommodate you.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There will be parking at the Smith Boat Yard on Mere Point Rd. This is where the shuttle will pick up guests who drove.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We have a shuttle service that will be running from the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Freeport, to the Smith Boat Yard, to the wedding location, and back.
